Cascade Designs, Inc. began over 40 years ago with the simple idea of providing a more comfortable night outdoors. Since then, we have grown to become the parent company of some of the most respected brands in the outdoor industry. Though much has changed with this success, our recipe for achieving it has not. We believe that manufacturing the majority of our gear in our U.S. and European facilities is an essential element in maintaining quality, and that by striving to exceed our customers’ expectations of service, we will be successful for many years to come.

The Cascade Design family includes: MSR, Therm-a-Rest, PackTowl, Seal Line and Platypus. 

Mountain safety research

At MSR, we are engineers, tinkerers and passionate outdoor users–each with strong perspectives on how a product should work based on our own experiences in the wild places we love. But collectively, we believe that innovative solutions are bred by challenging convention, and that functionality, simplicity and reliability are the governing elements of enduring design.

Today, many MSR products are still hand-built on manufacturing lines just a floor below where we concept them.

Our mission is to offer the finest taste-free and adventure-ready hydration and water filtration products on the planet. For over 20 years, we’ve made water bottles and hydration solutions for everyday hydration needs from the city to the trail.

We’re proud of the fact that we make the majority of our hydration solutions here in the U.S.A. in our own factory. And because we believe in what we make, and making it right, we have our own certified, world-class water laboratory, which enables us to research, develop, and test technologies so that you can have safe, effective, and dependable hydration and filtration options that meet your needs.
